Sean Cusson specializes in airport law, with an emphasis in regulatory compliance and corporate counseling.  His regulatory and public policy experience provides clients with actionable strategies to improve regulatory compliance while achieving operational efficiencies or growing their businesses. 

Prior to joining Thompson Burton, Sean founded Del Ray Solutions, where he assisted clients in maximizing their opportunities in the aviation market. In this role, he advised on regulatory issues and market considerations, educated clients on key regulatory and legislative developments, and developed and executed advocacy strategies to advance clients' interests with government and industry stakeholders. Previously, as the Director of Public Safety and Security for Airports Council International – North America, Sean advised airport operators on a broad range of regulatory issues and advocated on their behalf before federal agencies.  

Sean has led and participated in several research projects for the National Safe Skies Alliance and Airport Cooperative Research Program. These projects have resulted in practical guidebooks that provide workable solutions to the operational challenges commonly faced by airports.  

Sean received his J.D. from New England Law | Boston and his Bachelor's from George Washington University.  Sean lives in Alexandria, Va, with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his daughters’ ice hockey teams.
