Biography

Autumn L. Gentry is a seasoned commercial litigator and appellate advocate with more than 25 years of experience representing businesses and individuals in complex litigation. She is known for combining practical business judgment with persuasive courtroom advocacy, helping clients navigate difficult disputes efficiently and strategically from inception through appeal.

Autumn's practice focuses on commercial litigation, business disputes, employment litigation, contract claims, business torts, appellate advocacy, and other complex civil matters. She has extensive experience handling cases involving business-owner disputes, breach of contract claims, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, wage-and-hour litigation, product liability, and other sophisticated commercial controversies. Whether serving as lead trial counsel or advising clients behind the scenes, she develops practical litigation strategies that align legal objectives with business goals. While always prepared to take a case through trial and appeal, Autumn believes the best litigation strategy is the one that efficiently achieves her client's business objectives.

Throughout her career, Autumn has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Her experience includes obtaining significant trial and appellate victories, successfully pursuing and defending nationwide class and collective actions, and achieving favorable outcomes in cases involving substantial financial and reputational exposure. Clients value her responsiveness, strategic thinking, and ability to distill complex legal issues into practical advice that supports informed business decisions.

In addition to her litigation practice, Autumn is a Tennessee Rule 31 Listed Mediator. Her years of courtroom experience provide valuable perspective in evaluating risk, facilitating productive negotiations, and helping parties reach practical resolutions when litigation is not the best path forward.

Autumn has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation and holds the highest AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

A native and long-life Tennessean, Autumn was born and raised in Brentwood. She now calls Franklin home, where she lives with her two dogs, Frankie and Summitt. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, cheering on the Vols, and spending time with family and friends.
