Biography

Katelyn is an associate attorney in the firm’s litigation group, focusing her practice on contract litigation, franchise law, and insurance defense. Not every engagement starts in the courtroom, though. She works with small business owners, new business owners, and franchisees from pre-launch through the life of the business, providing ongoing legal support and stepping in for litigation when it arises.

With a small business background, Katelyn brings a business-owner’s mindset to her practice, recognizing that legal issues carry practical and financial implications for your business. Entrepreneurs make decisions every day with imperfect information, find a way to move forward even when the path isn’t clear, and learn how to recover when things don’t go as planned. Katelyn understands that the legal question is rarely the only question, so she strives to offer practical solutions and clear communication when solving problems, not just legal process.

Katelyn earned her J.D. from Belmont University College of Law and holds a B.A. in Spanish from Rhodes College. She is a member of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, Nashville Bar Association, American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, Heels & Handshakes Nashville, and serves as a Board Member of the Williamson County Library Foundation. She was selected as a member of the Nashville Young Leaders Council (Fall 2024 Cohort).

When out of the office, Katelyn can be found experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen or exploring the creative small business community that makes Middle Tennessee unique—often with her toy poodle underfoot.
