Eric Burton is a 30-year attorney whose practice focuses on sophisticated estate planning, asset protection planning, estate, gift, and income tax planning, and business succession for business owners and high-net-worth individuals and families.

Eric helps clients implement comprehensive, proactive strategies focused on the accumulation, preservation, lifetime enjoyment, and ultimate distribution of wealth. His work includes family governance, stewardship of wealth, philanthropy, generational wealth transfer, tax minimization, protection from future creditor claims, and net worth accretion. He collaborates with each client’s professional advisors to develop well-considered, coordinated, and comprehensive strategies that align family and business realities with the laws of property rights, descent and distribution, creditors’ rights, and taxation. This approach is designed to advance each client’s current and long-term goals, objectives, and desires, allowing him to build long-term relationships with clients, many of whom have been represented by him for at least 10 years.

Eric is licensed to practice law in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. He is a fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC) (New Mexico) and is designated as a Tax and Estate Practitioner by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

In addition to the practice of law, Eric co-owned a retail franchise and a winebar and co-owned and operated a captive insurance company management firm and a state-chartered corporate trust company. Prior to practicing law, Eric worked for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.

Eric and his wife have two children. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, including boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting, camping, off-roading, and dirt bike riding.
