Biography

Brad is a partner in the Environmental and Commercial Litigation practice areas. Before joining Thompson Burton, Brad worked in higher education for over a decade, serving in roles that included Student Services, Policy Drafting, and serving as an Administrative Law Judge. He began his legal career at an AmLaw 200 law firm where he practiced Commercial and Financial Litigation, as well as Environmental and Tort Law. He currently serves clients in those areas. Having served on the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Committee and receiving recognition as the Tennessee Justice Center's Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award, Brad strongly believes in the importance of the judicial system.

Brad received his JD and MBA from the University of Tennessee with high honors, where he also served on the National Labor and Employment Moot Court team. Brad obtained his undergraduate degree in Russian and served as a translator for non-profit organizations prior to attending law school.

Having personally experienced the incalculable consequences of identifying a driving purpose in his life, Brad cherishes the opportunities that he has in both his professional and personal life to assist others in identifying their values and goals, recognizing their strengths, and moving forward with intentionality. A frequent speaker and occasional author, Brad looks for moments of shared dialogue and learning, believing that every interaction affords the occasion to walk away a better person than before.

Having grown up in New Mexico, Brad believes that the correct answer to the question "red or green [chile]?" is almost always green. During his free time, Brad enjoys kayaking, canoeing, and fishing with his daughters.
